Potential Christian Academy’s K1 – 8th grade program is dedicated to the continual pursuit of academic excellence, and is fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and AdvancED. ACSI is a leading international organization that promotes Christian education and provides training and resources to Christian schools and educators. AdvancED (now Cognia) also provides accreditation and certification to schools who meet their standards of excellence. Additionally, the organization helps schools set priorities, identify resources, and track progress of improvement efforts for their institutions.
PCA offers effective instruction, is biblically sound, academically rigorous, socially engaged, and culturally relevant. Our educators are also certified, embody a biblical worldview, engage in transformational teaching and discipleship, and embrace personal and professional growth.
The school's curriculum is based on national and state standards. It includes special areas such as music, art, physical education, STEM, performing arts, computer science, Spanish, and other electives. Additionally, Title I services and pull-outs are provided by trained professionals in their respective areas.
Research across many countries indicates that the best predictor of future education achievement and life success is reading ability. PCA fosters a love for reading and encourages students to read at or above their reading level. As learning to read and comprehend complex texts is important, students are given practice reading fiction and non-fiction and are encouraged to read widely.
A portion of our student body includes children who score well above the national average and require a more rigorous and advanced academic experience in math courses. Our academic program offers a math enrichment program that allows them to work at a faster pace and prepare for competitions, such as the annual ACSI Math Olympics.
