Middle & High School English Teacher (Grades 6th – 10th)

Reports To: Head of School / Academic Principal

Position Summary

Potential Christian Academy is seeking a dedicated Middle School and High School Teacher for the 2026 – 2027 school year to teach students in 6th and 10th grade within a Christ-centered academic environment. The ideal candidate will help students build strong analytical and problem-solving skills while integrating biblical principles into instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Teach middle and high school English courses, including literature, grammar, composition, and writing.
  • Develop engaging lesson plans that encourage critical thinking and real-world application.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of grades and student performance.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and disciplined classroom environment.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and school administration regarding student progress.
  • Establish and maintain clear expectations for behavior and academic performance.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, school events, and chapel services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Teaching experience at the middle or high school level preferred.
  • Florida teaching certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to Christian education and the mission of Potential Christian Academy.
